Description : ⚡️Passionate about innovation and collaboration, my team and I recently participated in Enthirathon, a thrilling 33-hour hackathon at Rajalakshmi Engineering College. Thriving in the high-pressure environment, we poured our creativity and skills into developing a groundbreaking solution. Our hard work paid off as we clinched the Best Design Award along with a cash prize of 💰10,000 rupees. Our project, CheckInMate, is a testament to our dedication. It encompasses a sophisticated attendance detector, a user-friendly website, and an intuitive mobile application. Excited to continue pushing boundaries and making impactful contributions in the world of technology. 🎁Grateful for the recognition and the $10000 cash prize!💸 📌 The National Level Hackthon (Enthirathon) at REC College wasn't just an event; it was a catalyst for our professional growth and a testament to our relentless pursuit of knowledge and excellence. 📍As we move forward, we carry the invaluable lessons and experiences from this symposium with us, eager to script the next chapters of our professional journey.
Decription : Gesture recognition is a dynamic area of research in human-computer interfaces. New input methods, closer to the human nature, are searched for replacing the traditional ones. Gestures are a very spread mean of communication among people. There are two implementations of gesture recognizing systems: sensor-based and vision-based. The sensor-based solutions use accelerometers or gyros for detecting the gestures. This project presents a hand gesture recognition system built around an accelerometer sensor. The system is made by a sensing and transmitting part and a computer. The computer receives the data describing the motion trajectory and interprets it, through OCR, as a letter. It can be used in a more complex human-computer friendly interface, in which the commands are given by gestures. Without the OCR part, the system can be also used in gaming systems, embedded systems, intelligent peripherals and so on. So, for our specific project, we have decided to tackle the domain of education to help the teachers by innovating a device which is able to read hand movements and draw the corresponding input and output it on a monitor device. We purposely chose the sensory route instead of the vision route due to the limitations of poor camera and vision obstruction issues. The sensory route of using an accelerometer provides us the freedom to give hand gesture inputs to the device from anywhere inside the detection range in any direction.
Description: This project presents the development and implementation of a radar system utilizing ultrasonic sensors and servo motors for surveillance applications. The system aims to detect and track objects within a defined area by employing ultrasonic sensors to measure distance and servo motors to scan the surroundings. The project encompasses the design and construction of the hardware components, including the integration of the ultrasonic sensors and servo motors with a microcontroller for control and data processing. Additionally, software algorithms are developed to interpret sensor data, analyze object movements, and adjust servo motor positions accordingly to scan the area effectively. The system's performance is evaluated through experimental testing, demonstrating its capability to provide reliable detection and tracking of objects in real-time. This radar system offers a cost-effective and adaptable solution for surveillance applications, with potential applications in security systems, environmental monitoring, and robotics.
